Comenius Project
“Cultural Identity and Development of Tourism”
In the framework of
the “Cultural Identity and Development of Tourism”
Project, the Italian teachers Mariella D’Adamo
(English) and Lucia Galeone (Business Economics)
travelled to Finland and spent nine days in
Jarvenpaa visiting secondary schools (Keuda College,
Lukio Upper Secondary School, Kerava Business
Administration College) attending classes and
meeting local teachers and students.
The participation in the classes
of English, Social Studies and Swedish was an
excellent opportunity to learn more about the
teaching approach, methods and contents in this
country.
During the
visit Mariella D’Adamo also held classes on the
history, culture, traditions and the environment of
Manduria, in Puglia (southern Italy). It was an
interesting preliminary activity in view of the May
(8th – 13th ) visit to
Manduria of some teachers and students from all
partner countries.
The local
staff was very friendly and supportive, also during
the leisure time.
The images
of the Toolo Bay and Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, the
beautiful landscapes of Jarvenpaa and the typical
local atmosphere will stay for ever in our memories!
